Jart Ensemble is an ensemble of musicians with Down Syndrome or intellectual disabilities.
It’s mission to contribute to the dignity and rights of people with disabilities by encourasing cuitural diffusion of society, not to mention the disability awareness. Musical and artistic director Ae-roung Jang is a marimbist, who played the national anthem of Republic of Korea at the closing ceremony of the 2018 Peongchang Olympic winter games: it was for first time in history.

With her experiences from Prism Ensemble, she is providing members of Jart Ensemble with personalized education and practices for their musical improvement. Currently, she is designing creative ‘total art’ perfomances with professional composers’ works (commissioned pieces and arrangements) and collaborations with artists such as projection mapping and sand arts. By international exchange activities, Jart Ensemble will be spread the importance of dignity and rights of people with disabilities to the world.


J art Ensembleは、音楽的才能を持つ知的障害者で構成された団体で、2018平昌冬季オリンピック閉会式にて国歌をマリンバで単独伴奏したマリンビスト張愛姈氏が芸術監督を務めている。
2015年、日本東京ダウン協会主催の日韓交流国交正常化50周年記念公演への出演を皮切りに、知的障害者の芸術文化を通じて障害者の尊厳と基本的権利が尊重される成熟した社会を作る事を目的とし、韓国国内はもとより海外においても幅広く活動を行う。

J-Art Ensembleは作曲家たちによる委嘱作品やクラシック、映画音楽、クリスチャンミュージックなど多様なジャンルの曲を編曲しレパートリーとしている。

世界３大オーケストラの一つであるニューヨーク・フィルハーモニックのアシスタント・コンサートミストレスであるヴァイオリン奏者 ミシェル・キム氏によるアンサンブル団体との共演をはじめ、アジア打楽器アンサンブル、韓国女性作曲家協会、プロジェクションマッピング、サンドアート、音楽療法など、多種多様な分野との共同芸術公演に力を入れると共に、障害者に対する認識の改善を世界に知らしめ社会から認められる事を目的に、あらゆる壁を超えた世界の人々との音楽交流にも意欲的に取り組んでいる。
